Airshow, Birthdays and Dyers

If you don't like planes, this might be a good post to skip;)

Last weekend we went to the Tuscaloosa Airshow. It was exciting because, well, who doesn't enjoy a goo airshow?! But also we used to go when Alex was little and this was the first year that he was going that he remembered. And we think it was Olivia and definitely Rowan's first airshow. It was a pretty good one (once we got in the gate), but quite the mess to get in and out. The shuttle buses were ridiculous. We stood at the "shuttle stop" for over an hour and a half before anyone picked us up. Then going home, Emily, Clarence, and Alex walked back to get the car while Dad, Olivia, Rowan, and I sat in our lawn chairs on the side of the road waiting for them to pick us up. It was actually quite entertaining as they were giving Huey rides, and the helicopter kept going over our heads. Rowan really enjoyed that. He would smile at the helicopter as it would go by.

We saw a lot of planes - A10 Thunderbolt/Warthog, C130, B52, F18, P51 Mustangs, Golden Knights parachute team, Shell Aerobatic Team, and I'm sure there were others.

Some pictures on the ground...

Fat Albert warmed up the crowd -

Clarence grabbed the camera while I was holding Rowan and got some really great pictures of the Blue Angels.
But first, this one of us playing...

Rowan fell asleep! How he could sleep through the Blue Angels, I have no idea;) But Olivia and Alex helped me hold his ears (we also had cotton in them for ear plugs).

I love this picture.

Down to business...

Upside down...
The picture below is really cool. The plane in the front is actually two planes (planes 1 and 3). One is upside down and is actually behind the other.

Sunday Rachel, Nathan, Evie, Rosie, and Jules came in to Birmingham. Nathan took Evie and Rosie to Walking with Dinosaurs (which looked very exciting), and we got to meet little Juliana Dyer. She was really beautiful, and it was fun having the babies (and children) together for the afternoon. Amy will hopefully send a picture for me to post, but you can see all the kids together here: http://walshesinal.blogspot.com/2009/04/palm-sunday.html
It was also Mama Marie and Papa Guess's birthday. They were so sweet to invite all of us to join in their celebration and visit for the day! Happy Birthday!!! Thank you so much for having us over!

;) Thanks, Amy! Well, I never really asked you for them, so it was more a reminder for me to ask you about them.
