Merlefest Nights (Part II)

This first picture isn't night time, but I forgot to include it in the last set. This is Ollabelle with Martha Scanlan and Jim Lauderdale. They were really good. The girl from Ollabelle is Levon Helm's daughter, so that is pretty cool too.

Sam Bushwith Byron House - Sam Bush was playing the fiddle and began having technical difficulties right as he was about to "totally jam". So he threw down the fiddle and picked electric mandolin and completely rocked out. It was really awesome. You really can rock with an electric mandolin...really.

Merlefest Days (Part I)

Last week (April 23-26) we went to NC for our annual trip to Merlefest. Thank you Grammy and Grandaddy! We had a wonderful time.

I got a little free time to walk around Miami while I was there. Some really great ladies I met at the conference gave me a ride down to South Beach. Here are some pictures from Ocean Drive and Beyond.

Easter Weekend

Saturday Grandmommy playing with Rowan -

Easter morning we woke up to this view. The mist over the water was so peaceful and beautiful. I had to go outside to enjoy it for a while.

I was taking this picture, when I noticed something...See the goose tracks?

Rowan was just waking up when I came back inside.

We went to Mom and Quinn's church in Gadsden, and it was a very nice service. They also have a wonderful garden at the church where we spent some time after. We had lunch there as well and some very delicious food.

Grammy (Specht) made this Easter bib for Rowan and sent it to us so. Actually she made two and they are adorable! See?

Back at Mom's, we got out of our Easter clothes and got comfortable.

Auntie Trisha came to visit on Sunday after we got back to Birmingham. We were so glad that she came by!

Home now

I was gone two days this week to Miami, FL for a conference for work. It was actually quite a good conference, and I enjoyed myself and met some really nice, new people. But when it was time to go, I was SO ready to come home.  I missed my baby like crazy.

Thank you Dad, Twyla, Alex, Olivia for having Rowan and Clarence there. I think this made it much easier for Clarence in the driving situation. And thanks, Mom, for coming to play with him yesterday. I know he had a really great time with everybody. He seems so happy, even though he's not feeling well with another cold:( 

I still have Easter pictures to post, and I  have some pics from Miami, but I thought I'd post one Dad sent me this morning of Liv and Rowan. Livy's eyes may be closed b/c she's smiling, but I think that's why I like it so much. Love you guys:)
