Curly Locks

Vacation

We played in the glow of the Christmas tree.

And we played with the map that Emily gave us.

And we were going to take our baby out for a fly around the neighborhood, but it was cold, so we needed our lovely hat that Shannon gave us for Christmas and some good rain boots.

Rowan and I built his Lego fire truck. It took us a while, but we did it.

And he had lots of fun playing with it.

I had so much fun this week. I am so sorry to go back to work tomorrow. I can't imagine not being with the kids for a whole day now. I will miss everything about these days, even the temper tantrums. :)

Christmas at Grandmother's

At 4pm every Christmas, family meets at Grandmother's house for presents and then dinner following.

Rowan's waiting patiently for present opening to begin.

He wanted to sit by Livy when Dad (Granddaddy) moved to the floor to be by Lydia.

Frank. I didn't even notice, to be honest. haha.

Grandmother always sits in the red rocking chair.

Lydia got a Raggedy Ann doll from Harry and Sarah! It is handmade and has the stitching on her heart.

Lydia wanted to sit in this red high chair. This chair was used by many generations. I sat in it when I was a little girl.

Christmas Morning

Christmas morning they woke to find Santa had come, and they were so excited. Rowan found this in his stocking.

 and Lydia this...

And Santa ate the cookies we left!

Lydia was so cute opening each present and playing as she went. When we'd remind her she had more, she'd say, "More pwesents, for me???" It was so sweet.

Chocolate before breakfast is acceptable on Christmas.

Rowan got a marble run that he had seen a month earlier, and he was SO excited. He's put it on his list for Santa.

These fairy wings light up! She kept trying to turn to see it.

The aftermath...

Lydia tried all kinds of tactics to get into the presents.

For breakfast, Clarence cooked our Christmas strata. It was delicious.
